MASTER CLASSES

25 July to 9 August 2011

Already for the 27th time the Ostfriesische Landschaft is presenting the festival “Musikalischer Sommer in Ostfriesland” founded by Prof. Wolfram König. This concert term lasting three weeks with predominantly concerts of chamber music will take place in wonderful churches, castles and parks of this rural-charming region close to the North Sea. Within the scope of this festival, different master classes have been offered in the town of Aurich for many years. They are frequented by participants from all over the world. This year the courses will be led through by Prof. Wolfram König (violin course), Prof. Peter Barcaba (piano course), and Erik (Wenbo) Xu (chamber music) . Additionally to the active participation in master classes there is the possibility of taking part at the workshop being held daily on workdays together with the option of listening to the course. For the first time Volker Biesenbender will hold workshops under the issue "Improvisation for classical musicians". Additionally to that, Prof. Elmar Budde will offer his open lectures under the topic "Different kinds of expression of musical affects".
